The 22-year-old housekeeper kills her madam after robbing her of $5,600 at Ayigya.

A 22-year-old house-help is suspected of committing a murder after reportedly stealing over 5600 dollars from her employer in Ayigya, Oforikrom Municipality of the Ashanti region.

According to reports, the suspect, identified as Maame Akua, allegedly took the life of her 83-year-old Madam, Magaret Oppong. The tragic incident occurred after the deceased questioned the suspect about some missing money.

According to sources close to the family, it has been reported that the suspect tragically took the life of an 83-year-old woman while she was peacefully asleep in the early hours of the morning.

During an interview with OTEC News Reporters, Jacob Agyenim Boateng and Kofi Dwaah Appiah, on Tuesday January 2, 2024, Mr Kwame Boateng, the son of the deceased, shared that the suspect admitted to killing his mother during police questioning.

"She informed the authorities that she conspired with her boyfriend to resolve the issue of our mother, as she had been persistently inquiring about the recurring disappearance of money in our household."

"Occasionally, we send money to my mother who has children living abroad. Unfortunately, she lost a significant amount of money, first 32,000 dollars, then 18,000 dollars, and later 200 and 400 dollars respectively."

Upon suspecting that the house help was responsible for the missing money, my mother warned her that she would be arrested if she did not return the amount.

Prior to taking any action, the individual in question purportedly granted access to her boyfriend and proceeded to confront my mother in her room, ultimately resulting in her tragic demise.

According to Mr. Boateng, the suspect has been apprehended and is scheduled to appear before the Asokwa District Court on Wednesday, January 3, 2024.
