The Police have successfully restored calm at Gordenu near Hohoe in the Volta Region after a regrettable incident.
During a recent disturbance, a Police patrol vehicle unfortunately collided with a motorbike rider, resulting in tensions.
Regrettably, some members of the community resorted to setting the patrol vehicle on fire.
Unfortunately, two individuals tragically lost their lives as a result of the violence. Additionally, the motor rider who was involved in the accident is currently receiving medical attention for their injuries.
So far, twelve individuals have been arrested and one Bruni pistol has been recovered.
Authorities are currently conducting an ongoing investigation into the incident, specifically focusing on the circumstances surrounding the unfortunate loss of two lives.
Security has been enhanced in Hohoe township and its surrounding communities to maintain law and order.
