Power Book IV: Force: An Explanation of the Chicago Pipeline

Power Book IV: Force was about how Tommy Egan (Joseph Sikora), who had to leave New York after the death of his best friend James "Ghost" St. Patrick, found his place in Chicago (Omari Hardwick). Tommy was determined to make it on his own since drug dealers had always worked together.

In the first season of Force, he was interested in the Chicago pipeline, but what is it?

Season 2 of "Power Book IV: Force" is currently being filmed in Chicago.

Chicago is now where the second season of Force is being filmed. Reel Chicago says that most of the filming will take place at Cinespace. If everything goes as planned, Season 2 should start airing in February 2023. Gary Lennon, who was on Power, will take over as showrunner for Season 2.

Sikora told TV Line, "Our show is now in the very capable hands of Gary Lennon, who is now our showrunner." "I'm overjoyed. The fans have to be thrilled... Now you can hear Tommy Egan's real voice again. Gary Lennon is the one who made that happen... I couldn't be happier about that!

"Force" Takes Apart the Chicago Pipeline

At the end of Force's first season, Tommy said that he wanted to take over the whole Chicago Pipeline. But what does that really mean? A pipeline is a way for drugs to get into a city. If you watched season 2 of The Wire, you know that drugs came into Baltimore through its ports. Even though it's not said outright, we know that the Serbs are in charge of the city's pipeline.

Getting control of the city means getting control of the pipeline. Tommy didn't need a pipeline for Dahlia, but now that his business is over, he will need to figure out how drugs can get into the city without being caught if he wants to go back to selling cocaine.

In Season 2 of Power Book IV: Force, Tommy may want to get even.

Just as Tommy was getting used to life in Chicago, his whole world turned upside down. He thought that Claudia (Lili Simmons) and Liliana were a team he could count on (Audrey Esparza). Even though he and Liliana's relationship started out rough, no one had been more loyal to him than Ghost. So, Tommy lost everything when Claudia killed her out of misguided loyalty to her father Walter (Tommy Flanagan) and brother Vic (Shane Harper).

Fans are now sure that the gangster from Queens will spend the whole second season of Force looking for revenge. Also, the feds in New York know that someone is making trouble in Chicago. Even though they don't know it's Tommy yet, the drug dealer's strange behavior could lead them to him.

"I think that Tommy and how the police know him will have to change over time, just like everything else. Look at Tony Accardo and other gangsters, for example," Sikora told Hollywood Life. "The FBI knew about these Chicago mob guys for a long time. Even Al Capone had that eight-year stretch where he did nothing wrong, and he was having dinner with judges during that time.

I think there is corruption on the streets and in the government, but I think it can be an interesting mix. I think that when law enforcement is on the trail of these guys, as we saw in the Power show, nobody has the best intentions, so how close they get could be another fun storyline, but it's exciting. I think it's like real life in that everything has consequences, and it wouldn't be responsible storytelling to not show some of those consequences.
