Power Book III: Raising Kanan" Could Have 6 Seasons

Power Book III: Raising Kanan is the story of how the famous bad guy Kanan Stark grew up (Mekai Curtis). In the 1990s, Kanan is raised by his mother, Raquel "Raq" Thomas, who is a drug kingpin (Patina Miller).

Marvin (London Brown) and Lou Lou (Malcolm Mays), who are Raq's brothers, help her run her empire. Kanan is slowly learning about Raq's business and becoming more like the man we saw in the original series.

Season 2 is currently airing on Starz, and season 3 is already being filmed. Raising Kanan, on the other hand, could go on for six seasons.

Nature vs. nurture is the main theme of "Power Book III: Raising Kanan."

Since Power, the show's creator and showrunner, Sascha Penn, has been a part of it. Even though Raising Kanan is mostly about how Kanan came to be, the author also wanted to show the difference between nature and nurture.

"[Nature vs. nurture] is a big part of the story and the tension. He told The Koalition, "I think that's a question we all sort of ask ourselves as people and as parents." "I really think that is part of Raquel's journey. "What are these decisions I'm making for myself and for my son going to do to him?" We already know the answer; we know that at least they will have some effect on who Kanan becomes."

Raising Kanan" could have 6 seasons.

Penn is not only focused on a theme that will run through the whole series, but he also knows what will happen to each character. Power fans already know how Jukebox and Kanan's story ends.

The showrunner told Shadow and Act, "I have a pretty good idea of where some of the characters are going." I do think that finding out new things is part of the fun of writing and making a show like this," he said. "I've had a pretty good idea of where I think the stories are going, with the exception of Jukebox and Kanan, whose endings we already know, so that's kind of out of my hands."

London Brown, who plays Marvin, also hopes that Raising Kanan will have six seasons like Power.

"I think that's the hope, but we never really know," he told Express U.K. "Rumors are going around, but there's nothing official." "Nothing is nothing until it's something," so I don't worry or try to think about how many seasons because acting is a great temporary job where you work and work, and I just stay very present. So, we'll see what happens. So far, people seem to like it, and if the writers keep doing what they do, I think people will want to go along for the ride."

Season 3 is already being shot by the cast and crew.

Starz had already picked up Raising Kanan for a third season before the second season even came out. "Our loyal and passionate fans have been eagerly awaiting the return of Raising Kanan for season two to see how a young and naive teenage Kanan Stark continues to change into the ruthless, no-nonsense character they know and love," Starz's President of Original Programming, Kathryn Busby, told Deadline. "We're thrilled that Patina and MeKai will be leading this amazing cast into a third season."

In fact, as the episodes of the current series air on the cable network, the cast and crew are hard at work filming the third season. Penn put a picture of a Supersized cup from McDonald's from the 1990s on Instagram. He wrote in the caption, "Today is the first day of filming for Raising Kanan's third season. We're at it again!"
