A clip from Season 2 of "Power Book III: Raising Kanan" shows a tense dinner.

We are no longer at war.

These lines introduce a brand-new clip from Power Book III: Raising Kanan's upcoming second season, which premieres exclusively on Complex.

Tony-winning performer Patina Miller, who plays the mother of the title character, Raquel, commands the tense dinner scene. The stakes are quickly raised by a quarrel mid-meal, offering fans a preview of what to anticipate when the show returns to Starz with the start of Season 2 later this month.

MeKai Curtis (who plays Kanan, the role originally played by 50 Cent in the Power series), Omar Epps, Malcolm Mays, London Brown, Joey Badass, Hailey Kilgore, and other actors are also included in the Raising Kanan cast. The Raising Kanan team was last seen gathered during Rob Hardy's season one finale, "Paid in Full.

Raq is in charge of the city's drug trade at the start of Season 2, while Kanan is back in Queens but unsure of his allegiance to the family and its risky endeavors.

There are presently three spinoffs being worked on for the larger Power universe. Fans of Courtney A. Kemp and 50 Cent's franchise have also received Power Book II: Ghost (which will debut in 2020) and Power Book IV: Force in addition to Power Book III: Raising Kanan (which premiered earlier this year).

View the Season 2 trailer for Power Book III: Raising Kanan, which was just recently released, below. Starz will air the series again on August 14.
