I'm sorry to inform you that Hersha Parady, known for her role in 'Little House on the Prairie', has passed away at the age of 78.

I'm sorry to inform you that Hersha Parady, the talented actress who portrayed Alice Garvey, the beloved school teacher on 'Little House on the Prairie,' has sadly passed away at the age of 78.

Parady had the opportunity to be on the show for a total of 33 episodes, starting from the series' Season 4 premiere episode, titled "Castoffs," which aired in September 1977.

Her son, Jonathan Peverall, was by her side when she passed away.

Last night, at the age of 78, she peacefully departed from us. I would like to mention that my mother was an incredibly talented actor, and what's even more remarkable is that she was deeply cherished by many people, far more than I had ever realised.

I have been consistently amazed by the number of people who have shared with me the impact she had on their lives...she was an exceptional mother. She was also a loving grandmother, and her three grandchildren, who brought immense joy to her life, will deeply miss her."

Parady has been bravely facing meningioma, a brain tumour. She had the surgery to partially remove her tumour and was later transferred to a rehab facility, where unfortunately she developed pneumonia. Unfortunately, she passed away after spending several weeks in the ICU.
