Scott Bolshevik, a financial analyst and US economist, has offered his perspective on the mass sacking of District Chief Executives by President Akufo-Addo.
Based on a post by Mr. Bolshevik on X, it was mentioned that these DCEs were not dismissed because of their inefficiency or involvement in corruption, as per his conversation with a Member of Parliament.
The 24 individuals were removed from their post due to the fact that the candidates they preferred for president lost the recent elections.
According to Mr Bolshevick, their prolonged presence could potentially hinder Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia's aspirations to become President. As a result, the president had to rescind their appointments.
I had the honour of speaking with an MP. It was rather peculiar that the DCEs were dismissed, not due to any allegations of corruption or inefficiency. The recent elections saw the defeat of the 24 preferred candidates for president. There is a possibility that this could hinder Bawumia's chances of succession. It has never been about you! He kindly wrote.
