A driver was arrested for hitting a police officer on duty at Akwanserem police barrier in the Adansi Asokwa district of the Ashanti region.
Adams Fuseini Barro, the suspect, was driving a Mitsubishi Pajero vehicle with registration number GT 7116- P from Adansi Asokwa to New Edubiase.When the driver reached the Adansi Akwanserem police barrier, they did not obey the police signal to stop.
While trying to escape, he accidentally hit Police Officer G/Const.
Theophilus Amissah Arthur and then crashed into a parked Matiz taxi with registration number AC 337-20, injuring passengers inside.Constable Amissah Arthur and the other passengers were promptly taken to the Fomena district hospital for medical care.
The driver has been taken into custody at the Fomena district police headquarters.
