Hersha Parady, widely recognised for her memorable portrayal on Little House on the Prairie, has passed away. She was 78 years old.
The sad news of her passing was confirmed by Jonathan Peverall, the actress's son, to The Hollywood Reporter. She passed away on Wednesday at Peverall's residence in Norfolk, Virginia. (PEOPLE has contacted Peverall for additional comment.)
Prior to her passing, Parady had been afflicted with a brain tumour called meningioma.
As per the Mayo Clinic, meningioma is the most frequently occurring type of tumour that develops in the head. It is more commonly found in women and tends to be diagnosed at older ages.
Parady's son recently started a GoFundMe campaign to help cover the increasing medical expenses.
He expressed his hope that the fundraising efforts would be successful in enhancing her well-being and providing her with the necessary support during this challenging period.
Additionally, he mentioned that the campaign aimed to demonstrate solidarity and support for her in her struggle.
