Patina Miller wants to see more of Raq's relationship with her mother in Season 3's "Power Book III: Raising Kanan."

Power Book III: Raising Kanan is about how Kanan Stark comes of age (Mekai Curtis). Kanan is raised by his drug kingpin mother, Raquel "Raq" Thomas (Patina Miller), who runs her drug empire with her brothers Marvin (London Brown) and Lou Lou (Malcolm Mays).

Raq's past has a direct impact on her present and future. Now, Miller hopes that Season 3 will show more of how she gets along with her mom, Joyce.

Raq, Marvin, and Lou Lou all had hard lives as children.

Raq has always put a lot of importance on her family because she and her brothers didn't have the best childhood. Their mother, Joyce, lives in Brooklyn right now, and all we know about their father is that he played the trumpet and liked music.

In "Power Book III: Raising Kanan," Patina Miller wants to see more of the relationship between Raq and her mother.

Joyce, Raq, Marvin, and Lou's mother, was introduced at the end of Season 1 of Raising Kanan. We know that she goes to church every Sunday and lives in Brooklyn. We also know that Raq pays her rent and that she almost sent Kanan to live with her.

But Joyce's story is much more complicated than what has been told. This is because the Thomas siblings grew up in a very chaotic environment. Miller says she hopes Season 3 will tell us more about what happened there.

Up until just before Marvin went to high school, the kids' upbringing seemed pretty normal. In the first episode of Season 2. Deborah, Raq's aunt, says that Joyce had planned to move the family to Virginia, but that plans changed because of something else.

When Raq and Lou's parents were "on their sh—," Marvin took care of them. Fans have long thought that the parents of the Thomas children got hooked on drugs.

She told Pop Sugar, "I loved getting a look at the Thomas family and where they come from, especially with her mother." "I'd like to look into that relationship because it made an impression on me. I'd love to learn more about where they came from and how the Howard/Raq story fits into the big picture.

"Power Book III: Raising Kanan" shows that Raq has hit rock bottom.

Raq will definitely try to fix things with Kanan and Lou Lou and rebuild her business. After all, her desire for power and her lies have cost her a lot. When Season 3 starts up again next year, she'll be able to start fixing what's broken.

"For her in Season 3, it's a real coming together of all these things," Raising Kanan creator Sascha Penn told Variety. "In some ways, she was coming to terms with her own fallibility, the mistakes she's made, and the choices she's made, and really trying to figure out what it all meant."

Even though Raq is a boss, it's nice to see her in all of her humanness.
