The rapper returned to the stage on April 30 at the 2022 Smoker's Club Fest at Glen Helen Amphitheater in Southern California, less than two weeks after his arrest at LAX airport in Los Angeles.
Rocky got the crowd up and dancing by performing fan favorites like "Praise the Lord," "L$D," and "Yamborghini High."
Fans noticed Rocky's pregnant girlfriend Rihanna watching from the side stage during his set, which included flames and flamethrowers. In fact, in the middle of the show, the "Umbrella" singer couldn't help but dance along to one of the rapper's hits.
Guests were treated to performances by Kid Cudi, Playboi Carti, Schoolboy Q, Wiz Khalifa, and Larry June, as well as art installations, a vendor village, and a variety of other activities.
Rocky's spectacular performance comes after he got into legal issues on April 20.
According to numerous law enforcement sources cited by NBC News, the 33-year-old was apprehended by the Los Angeles Police Department with the help of Immigration and Customs Enforcement's Homeland Security Investigations unit. The arrest was made in relation with a shooting in 2021.
Rocky, real name Rakim Mayers, was "under investigation" after an incident in California last November, according to the outlet. According to police files acquired by NBC News, the shooting victim told officers that Rocky "approached him with a handgun on the street" with two other persons, and that Rocky "fired at him three to four times and believed one of the rounds grazed his left hand."
Rocky was released from jail after posting $550,000 bond in less than three hours. His next court date is Aug. 17, and his attorneys have made no public statements about his arrest.
While some fans feared if Rocky's incarceration would affect his relationship with Rihanna, all signs point to the couple remaining united. In addition to the concert this weekend, the couple recently dined together.
Of course, all eyes will be on the Met Gala in New York City in 2022, where fans are hoping for another appearance by Rihanna and Rocky.
