In the initial four seasons of Little House on the Prairie, the esteemed schoolteacher for the children of Walnut Grove was Miss Beadle, portrayed by the talented Charlotte Stewart. The actor graciously graced the classic series from 1974 to 1978. Despite not being present for all nine seasons of the show, she left a significant impact on fans.
"I receive numerous comments from teachers who express, 'I pursued a career in teaching because of Miss Beadle,'" Stewart shared with Smashing Interviews in 2016. "There is no higher form of praise."
In addition to Little House on the Prairie, Stewart has gained recognition for her collaborations with director David Lynch, including the film Eraserhead and the television series Twin Peaks.

Stewart's movie and TV career started in the 1960s. Before her role on Little House on the Prairie, she had the opportunity to be a part of several other shows such as My Three Sons, Hawaii Five-O, Bonanza, The Waltons, and Gunsmoke. In addition, she had a part in the 1968 film Speedway, starring Elvis Presley and Nancy Sinatra.
She has had a long and successful career that has lasted for many decades. Aside from her portrayal of Miss Beadle, Stewart gained significant recognition for her performance as Mary X in David Lynch's debut film, Eraserhead, released in 1977.
She had the opportunity to collaborate with Lynch once more on the TV series Twin Peaks, which was on air from 1990 to 1991. Stewart portrayed Betty Briggs and reprised the role when Twin Peaks was revived for a third season in 2017, more than 25 years after the original run.
In 2018, she starred in Livin' on a Prairie, a film centered around a woman who is an avid fan of Little House on the Prairie. Stewart portrayed the role of a bartender.
She has been married three times. Stewart's initial spouse was Tim Considine, with whom she co-starred on My Three Sons during the 1960s. She entered into another marriage in 1992 with David Banks, and they remained together until his passing in 2012. In 2015, Stewart married her current husband, Michael Santos, following a fortuitous encounter.
"I had the pleasure of encountering an old acquaintance on a memorable Christmas Eve two years ago," she shared with Smashing Interviews in 2016. "It had been 30 years since we last saw each other. We connected, and that was it. We were married on August 30th of last year. I am embarking on a fresh chapter in my life, and my schedule has become quite packed.
Things are going quite well, better than ever! She mentioned, "I am fortunate to have a lovely family here, including a sister and brother, numerous nieces, nephews, grand nieces and nephews, as well as amazing friends." I am content with my life."
