This casting news comes just weeks after 50 Cent turned to Instagram to call for the world to "uncancel" actress Mo'Nique.

"I Gotta get @therealmoworldwide back in pocket, we only supposed to cancel sh*t that ain't healthy for the culture," he wrote with a clip of her famed 2009 Precious performance mashup with a scene from Power. MONIQUE, we need you to WIN AGAIN.

Days later, he wrote to Tyler Perry and Oprah Winfrey, claiming that they had blackballed Mo'Nique after Precious. "I'm sure Oprah Winfrey and Tyler Perry would not want to continue to allow their influence to damage @therealnoworldwide career and this has gone on for way too long," he wrote. So this is a good opportunity to apologize since I'm putting her back on."

BMF was a hit for Starz last year, scoring top ratings with its launch, as theGrio previously reported. "One of the most highly engaged series premieres ever," according to Shadow and Act, with "a great completion rate across OTT platforms based on preliminary reporting."

In October, the drama was renewed for a second season.
